At Authentic.how, we respect your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you shop on our website or use our mobile app, and how we use it.

1) Who This Applies To
This policy covers:
- Our website at authentic.how
- Our mobile app
- Customers in the United States only
Important: We only sell and ship within the United States. If you’re outside the U.S., we can’t accept your order. Our site and app are designed for U.S. customers, and any information you provide will be handled under U.S. law.
2) What We Collect When You Shop on Our Website
When you place an order, we collect:
- Your name, email, phone number
- Billing and shipping addresses
- Order details and payment confirmation (your credit card processor handles payment—we don’t see your full card number)
We also automatically collect technical info to keep the site running smoothly:
- IP address, browser type, pages you visit
- When you visited and how you got to our site
Cookies: We use cookies (small data files) to remember your shopping cart and keep you logged in. If we add analytics or advertising cookies later, we’ll let you know and give you control over them.
3) Our Mobile App Privacy
Information the app may collect:
The app may collect standard technical and diagnostic information to help us maintain and improve app performance. This may include:
- Device information: Device type, operating system version, unique device identifiers
- Usage data: App features used, screen views, session duration, in-app actions
- Performance data: Crash reports, error logs, app response times, diagnostic information
- Network information: IP address, connection type, general location data (country/region level, not precise location)
What we don’t collect:
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or other contact information through the app unless you provide it when making a purchase
- We do not track your precise geolocation
- We do not access your camera, photos, contacts, or other personal files without explicit permission
- We do not collect sensitive personal information
Device permissions: The app may request permissions only when needed for specific features (e.g., camera for scanning, notifications for order updates). You can deny these permissions, though some features may not work without them. Granting a permission does not mean we collect or transmit that data to our servers unless specifically disclosed.
Third-party services: The app may use third-party service providers for analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually required to protect your information.
In-App Purchases: If you make purchases through the app, payment processing is handled by the platform provider (Apple App Store or Google Play). We do not receive your full payment card details from these providers.
Links to other sites: If the app opens links to third-party websites, your use of those sites is governed by their privacy policies, not ours.
Children’s privacy: The app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
4) Affiliate Links and Advertising
Affiliate links:
- Sometimes we include links to products on other sites. If you buy something through one of those links, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
- These links use a cookie to track the sale so we get credit.
Advertising:
- We may show ads on our site or app.
- Right now, we don’t use personalized ads that track you across different websites.
- If that changes, we’ll update this policy and give you a way to opt out.
Your choices:
- You can manage cookies in your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
- You can opt out of interest-based ads at Network Advertising Initiative or YourAdChoices
5) How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process your orders: Pack and ship your products, handle payments and refunds
- Customer support: Answer questions and help solve problems
- Run the site: Keep everything working, secure, and improving
- Legal requirements: Meet tax, accounting, and fraud-prevention requirements
6) Who We Share Your Information With
We share your info with companies that help us run the store:
- Payment processors (they handle your credit card)
- Shipping companies (they need your address to deliver)
- Email service (for order confirmations and updates)
- Web hosting providers
These companies can only use your information to help us—they can’t use it for their own purposes.
We also share information when required by law:
- To comply with legal requirements
- To respond to court orders or government requests
- To protect our rights and prevent fraud
What we DON’T do:
- We don’t sell your personal information to anyone
- We don’t share your info for advertising purposes
7) Why We’re Allowed to Use Your Information (U.S. Law)
We follow U.S. federal and state privacy laws. Here’s our legal basis:
- To fulfill your order: We need your information to process and ship your purchase
- Legal requirements: Tax records, fraud prevention, and consumer protection laws
- Running our business: Keeping the site secure, fixing problems, making improvements
- Your permission: When you sign up for marketing emails or accept cookies
If you’re outside the U.S.:
- We don’t operate under EU or UK privacy laws because we don’t sell to those regions
- We process and control data from within the United States under U.S. law
- If you submit information anyway, it will be processed under U.S. law
8) Where Your Information Is Stored
We host information with reputable third-party providers. Those providers may store data in data centers located inside or outside the United States, but we manage and control that data from the United States and apply this Privacy Policy and U.S. law to it. We do not target or offer services to residents outside the United States.
What this means for you:
- Your data is governed by U.S. privacy laws
- Hosting locations are chosen for reliability and security, not to expand our service area
- We require our hosting providers to safeguard information in line with our contractual commitments
9) How Long We Keep Your Information
Order and transaction records:
- We keep these for 7 years after your order (required for tax and accounting)
- Sometimes longer if needed for chargebacks, disputes, or fraud prevention
Customer support messages:
- We keep these for up to 12 months after your last contact
- Longer if you have an open issue
Mobile app diagnostic data:
- Technical and diagnostic information is typically retained for 90 days to 12 months for troubleshooting and performance improvement
- Crash reports and error logs are retained for up to 90 days
- Aggregated analytics (with no personal identifiers) may be retained longer for trend analysis
10) Your Privacy Rights
If you live in California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or Utah, you have rights under state privacy laws:
What you can do:
- Access: See what personal information we have about you
- Delete: Ask us to delete your information (with some exceptions)
- Correct: Fix any wrong information
- Portable copy: Get a copy of your information
- Opt out: We don’t sell your info or use targeted advertising, so there’s nothing to opt out of right now
How to exercise your rights:
- Email us at [email protected]
- Put “Privacy Request” in the subject line
- Tell us which state you live in
- We’ll verify your identity (usually by confirming order details) and respond
Your rights are protected:
- We won’t charge you more or treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights
- You can designate an authorized agent to make requests for you (they’ll need proof)
If you’re outside the U.S.:
- These rights don’t apply—please don’t submit personal information
11) Cookies and Tracking
What cookies we use:
- Essential cookies: These make the site work (shopping cart, login, checkout, security). You can’t turn these off without breaking the site.
- Performance cookies: Help us see how the site performs so we can improve it. These don’t sell your information.
- Affiliate cookies: Track when you click an affiliate link so we get credit for the sale.
What we don’t do:
- We don’t build detailed profiles of your behavior across different websites
- We don’t use cookies to “sell” your information
Your choices:
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings (Chrome > Settings > Privacy, etc.)
- Just know that blocking essential cookies will break the shopping cart and checkout
Do Not Track signals:
- Most browsers have a “Do Not Track” setting
- We don’t currently respond to these signals
- If U.S. law requires us to honor Global Privacy Control in your state, we will
12) How We Protect Your Information
We use standard security practices to protect your information:
- SSL/TLS encryption: Scrambles data when it travels between your browser and our servers
- Restricted access: Only authorized people can access customer data
- Secure payment processing: We don’t store your full credit card number
Reality check: No online system is 100% secure. We do our best, but we can’t guarantee absolute security.
13) Children’s Privacy
Our site and app are not for children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from kids. If you’re a parent and believe your child gave us information, please contact us at [email protected] and we’ll delete it.
14) Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time (for example, if we add new features or if laws change). When we do, we’ll:
- Post the updated policy on this page
- Update the “Last Updated” date at the top
